Why Bedding and Backfill Matter

A pipe set straight on rocky Ozark soil can crack, and a trench backfilled loose will settle into a rut across your yard or driveway. Proper sand or aggregate bedding cradles the line, and backfill compacted in lifts keeps the surface stable. Doing both right is the difference between a line that lasts and a callback.

Our Process

We call the 811 locate, then open the trench to the required depth and width. In any cut five feet or deeper we use a trench box, benching, or sloping per OSHA Subpart P, with a competent person inspecting the excavation. We bed the pipe, set the line to slope, backfill in compacted lifts, and restore the surface grade.
