On December 5, 2013, BI-LO Charities presented Sea Haven with a check for
$15,000.00 for the Sea Haven Transitional Living Program “Combat Hunger”
and the Street Outreach-Project Lighthouse food distribution.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Anderson Ocean Club held their Global Week of Service in October 2013. Sea Haven was chosen as their charity of choice. The resort Operations and Sales/Marketing worked hard to accomplish the following for Sea Haven: Clothing Drive (424 pieces donated), 33 Gift Certificates collected, Texas Hold’ Em tournament, and Pot luck luncheon. A check for $2130 was donated to Sea Haven Programs!
Sea Haven, Inc. was chosen by the Department of Education in Harrisburg Pennsylvania to present two workshops at their “Meeting the Challenge: Pennsylvania’s Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness Program” Conference on October 7-8, 2013. Sea Haven proudly presented the following training information: Youth Development: The Vital Link and Building the Bridge from Box to Bed: How Creative and Effective Outreach Practices can Engage Hard to Reach Street “Travlers”.

Food Lion presents a check for $3000.00 to Sea Haven, Inc. in July of 2013.
Sea Haven depends strongly on the donations of community businesses.
Wells Fargo Bank presented Sea Haven, Inc. with a check for $2000.00 on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. The presentation ceremony was held at the Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. Each year local branches select a charity of choice. Total donations from Wells Fargo to Sea Haven, Inc. totaled $3000.00 in 2013.
On August 24, 2013, the Loris Swamp Fox Bass Master’s Club held their annual fishing tournament.
All proceeds go to Sea Haven Shelter Home.
Sea Haven’s Project Lighthouse received $1500 from the April 28, 2013 Zombie Walk.

The City of Myrtle Beach Council presented a proclamation plaque in honor of the SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy for the month of May 2013. The campaign is a five year plan to reduce the number of teen pregnancies by promoting educational awareness about STD’s and STI’s and using contraceptive measures to prevent unwanted births. Sea Haven is proud to be a partner with the campaign in this mission.
National Safe Place Week
National Safe Place is pleased to announce March 17-23, 2013 as National Safe Place Week. The week serves to increase awareness about the importance of youth safety and the dangers young people face when they feel they have nowhere to go or are in crisis situations. It also highlights the Safe Place program, which brings together businesses and volunteers to provide help and safety for youth facing abuse, neglect, bullying or serious family problems.

Sea Haven, Inc. and Kidz Village, CDC, LLC celebrated MLK Day 2013 on January 18, 2013.
In commemoration of this holiday a very successful food, clothing, and toiletry drive was held.
All donations were given to Sea Haven Shelter Home and Lowcountry Food Bank.
