Seeking qualified, organized professional to assist youth who are living on the street or in a shelter to acquire and move into safe appropriate housing. Assist with case management responsibilities including development of individual goal plans that promote safety, self-sufficiency, and permanent living arrangements. Ensure compliance with HUD rules and regulations by implementing, monitoring and enforcing program rules and regulations. Extreme attention to detail needed to complete documentation and reporting requirements.
Bachelor Degree in human services and/or Associate Degree
in human services field from an accredited institution.
Bachelor Degree requires one year of case management experience working with at-risk youth and/or homeless population. Associates Degree requires at least two years of experience in case management, working with at-risk youth, and working in a social service arena. Experience working with housing, property management, tenants and/or landlords with knowledge of local community resources is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills a must.
• Must conduct home visits and inspections of rental properties considered
• Occasional evening and weekend hours required
• Valid SC drivers license and clean driving record for at least three years
• Approved background checks
• Complete all required orientation and ongoing training
Sea Haven is searching for an energetic, dependable, and self-motivated individual to work with youth ages 13 through 17 years in the Sea Haven Shelter Program. A minimum of two years of experience working with at-risk youth, flexibility in working various shifts, household chores, and constant supervision of youth is required. Individual must possess a high school diploma, effective verbal and written communication skills, and especially a compassion for working with teenagers/young adults. Willingness to be a team player and advocate for the Sea Haven programs is a must. This position is for a part time/full time basis and is a first step in joining the Sea Haven Team.
